First Service Credit Union Launches Bongo Youth Account

August 1, 2025
PRESS RELEASE
First Service Credit Union is thrilled to announce the launch of Bongo Youth Accounts, a dynamic new offering designed to help young members build smart money habits early in life. Just in time for the back-to-school season, the launch is paired with a limited-time Nintendo Switch 2 giveaway, combining financial education with family fun.

Created with children and their parents in mind, the Bongo Youth Account offers an engaging way for young members to learn the basics of banking and financial wellness. It features kid-friendly tools and resources to help them understand how to manage money, track savings goals, and begin developing strong financial habits that will serve them for years to come.

“Financial education is a lifelong journey, and it’s never too early to start,” said Dave Bleazard, President and CEO at First Service Credit Union. “The Bongo Youth Account makes learning about money exciting and accessible for kids, while giving parents peace of mind that their children are developing financial responsibility from the start.”

“As a parent of both a 20-year-old and an 11-year-old, I understand firsthand how important it is for my younger child to learn financial responsibility early on and learn how daily choices can affect their future,” Mrs. T. Estes, First Service member and mom of 2.

As part of the launch celebration, First Service is giving families even more to get excited about—a chance to win a brand-new Nintendo Switch 2. Every new Bongo Youth Account opened during the promotional period (August 1st to October 31st) will be automatically entered into the giveaway, encouraging families to start the school year off with both fun and financial focus. The winner will be randomly selected and announced in early November.

The Bongo Youth Account includes:
  • Access to savings and spending features tailored for children
  • Fun, age-appropriate financial education tools
  • Opportunities to grow with the account as kids mature
  • Parental controls and easy account management
By combining education, excitement, and a smart savings strategy, First Service Credit Union continues its mission of empowering members at every stage of life—including the youngest ones.
