Please Be Aware: New Investment Scams

A growing concern for financial institutions is the spread of investment scams. According to the FTC, investment scams cost American consumers upwards of $5.7 billion in 2024, making them the most costly form of fraud.

Some of the most common signs of fraud are as follows:

1) False Sense of Urgency: Beware of any scheme that demands you act immediately.

2) Unconventional Payment Methods: Beware of any scheme that demands unconventional payment methods like cryptocurrency or gift cards.

3) Isolation: Beware schemes that demand secrecy.
