The Credit Union Difference

A credit union is a not-for-profit financial services organization that exists to serve the needs of its members. Every member is an owner with a legitimate vote in the way the credit union is operated. Like banks, credit unions are a safe place to keep your money, take out loans, and conduct business. The difference? A credit union reports to you, not shareholders.

Credit Unions are Owned by the People We Serve

Credit unions are member-owned, democratically run organizations. That means you have ownership in the credit union and a vote in how it is operated and controlled. Our members can vote and even run in the annual elections of our volunteer board of directors. This is what it means to bank like you own the place!

Credit Unions are Not For Profit

Credit unions are not-for-profit. We exist to serve the needs of our members and give profits back to them through reduced fees, lower interest rates on loans, and higher savings rates.
