Paws for a Cause

Sponsor: First Service Credit Union (“Sponsor” or “First Service”), 16430 Park Ten Place, Houston, Texas 77084. 

First Service is conducting a “Paws for a Cause Giveaway,” alternatively referred to as “Giveaway” promotion. First Service reserves the right to determine eligibility of an entrant. Entrants deemed ineligible will forfeit any winnings.  

Eligibility: The Paws for a Cause Giveaway is open to legal residents of the State of Texas who are at least eighteen (18) years of age as of the date of entry.  Void where prohibited or restricted by law. Employees of Sponsor, its subsidiaries, their directors and volunteers, and members of their respective immediate families (spouses, parents, children and siblings), regardless of where they reside, and household members of such employees are not eligible to enter. By participating in the Giveaway, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding in all respects. Winner must reside in the state of Texas. Participation in the Giveaway will not affect any credit decision, loan terms, underwriting criteria, or approval process for any product or service offered by First Service.

Entry Period:

The Paws for a Cause Giveaway (“Giveaway”) begins at 11:00:00 a.m. CDT on June 13, 2026, and ends at 1:00:00 p.m. CDT (“Entry Period”). Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, postpone, delay, or modify the Giveaway at any time, in its sole discretion, due to technical failures, weather conditions, venue issues, or any other cause beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control. In such event, Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, select a winner from among all eligible entries received prior to the interruption or modification.

Location: The Giveaway will take place at Special Pals Animal Shelter, located at 3830 Greenhouse Road, Houston, Texas 77084 (“Giveaway Location”).

How to Enter: NO PURCHASE OR ACCOUNT OPENING IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR ACCOUNT OPENING WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

During the Entry Period, eligible individuals may enter the Giveaway by providing a First Service employee with their full name, email address, and phone number at the Giveaway Location. Limit one (1) entry per person during the Entry Period. Duplicate or incomplete entries are void.

Information collected from entrants is subject to Sponsor’s Privacy Policy available at https://www.fscu.com/privacy-policy/. By entering, entrants agree that Sponsor may use the contact information provided for administration of the Giveaway and, where permitted by applicable law, for marketing and promotional communications. Entrants may opt out of marketing communications at any time.

Drawing: Two (2) winners will be selected in a random drawing from all eligible entries received during the Entry Period. The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received. 

Two (2) separate prize giveaway drawings will be conducted at the Paws for a Cause event at Special Pals Animal Shelter on June 13, 2026. One (1) winner will be selected during each drawing.  The first drawing will occur at approximately 12:00:00 p.m. CDT, and the second drawing will occur at approximately 1:00:00 p.m. CDT. MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN. Entrants must be physically present at the Giveaway Location at the time their name is announced in order to be eligible to receive a prize. If a selected entrant is not present at the time of announcement, that entrant will be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected at Sponsor’s sole discretion. 

Prize: Two (2) winners will be selected during the Paws for a Cause event. Limit one (1) prize package per winner. Each winner will receive a prize package consisting of a First Service–branded fanny pack, dog waste bags, cat laser toy, tennis balls, and mister fan, along with oven mitts, kitchen towels, two (2) pet bowls, and one (1) $50 Petco gift card. The approximate retail value (“ARV”) of each prize package is $100.00. Any gift card included as part of the prize is subject to the terms and conditions of the issuing entity and will not be replaced if lost, stolen, damaged, or expired.

Winners are solely responsible for any and all applicable federal, state, and local taxes associated with the acceptance and use of the prize. This Giveaway is not sponsored, endorsed by, or affiliated with Alphagraphics, Petco, Facebook, Instagram, or Meta.

Pet Adoption Fee Sponsorship: During the Paws for a Cause event on June 13, 2026, Sponsor may pay eligible pet adoption fees charged by Special Pals Animal Shelter for qualifying adopters, subject to the limitations set forth herein. Sponsor will cover adoption fees for up to one (1) adopted pet per family or household during the event, while funds last, until Sponsor has paid a maximum aggregate amount of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) in total adoption fees. Sponsor will cover only the standard adoption fee charged by Special Pals Animal Shelter and will not cover optional products, services, donations, taxes, licensing fees, or other ancillary charges. Sponsor reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate this sponsorship at any time and for any reason. Sponsor shall have no liability if adoptable animals are unavailable for any reason.

Adoption fee sponsorship is available on a first-come, first-served basis during the Paws for a Cause event on June 13, 2026 and is subject to approval and eligibility requirements established by Special Pals Animal Shelter. Availability of adoptable animals is determined solely by Special Pals Animal Shelter, and Sponsor does not guarantee the availability of any particular animal or any minimum number of animals for adoption during the event. Sponsor is not responsible for adoption approval decisions, pet health, pet behavior, veterinary expenses, or any matters arising from or related to pet adoption. 

Participation in the adoption fee sponsorship program is not conditioned on becoming a member, opening an account, applying for credit, or obtaining any product or service from Sponsor. The employee eligibility restrictions set forth in the Eligibility section apply to the Pet Adoption Fee Sponsorship program.

Publicity: By accepting the prize, the winner grants permission for First Service and/or its designees to use his/her name, photographs, voice and/or other likeness and prize information for publicity and promotional purposes without further compensation, notice, review, or consent, unless prohibited by law and subject to any required consent under applicable law, in any and all forms of media, worldwide in perpetuity.

General Conditions:  First Service reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Giveaway, or any part of it, if any fraud, technical failures, natural disaster, human error or any other factor beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control, including but not limited to cyberattacks, system outages, technical malfunctions, or changes in applicable laws or regulations, impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Giveaway, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, illegible, inaccurate, stolen, delayed, misdirected, or undelivered entries. In such event, Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to award the prize at random from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Giveaway or to be acting in violation of the Official Rules. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Giveaway may be a violation of criminal and/or civil law, and should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person as allowed by applicable law. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.

No Inducement:   Entry into the Giveaway is not conditioned on becoming a member, opening an account, or maintaining any account relationship with First Service Credit Union and will not influence any financial decision-making or eligibility determination by First Service. 

Prize Claim: The prize will be awarded at the time of the drawing. The winner must be physically present at the Paws for a Cause Giveaway Location and must accept the prize in person immediately upon verification of eligibility. If the selected winner declines the prize or fails to complete any required documentation at the time of award, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected. Only two (2) prizes will be awarded in connection with the Giveaway. The prize will be awarded on-site at the Paws for a Cause Giveaway Location.

To receive the prize, the winner may be required to sign and return an Authorization and Release of Name, Image, Voice, or Likeness and provide any requested contact information for prize fulfillment. Failure to timely respond, complete required documentation, or otherwise comply with these Official Rules within the time period specified by Sponsor may result in forfeiture of the prize, and Sponsor may select an alternate winner in its sole discretion.

Sponsor reserves the right to require tax documentation from any winner if required by applicable law.

Compliance with the Law: All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of you and First Service in connection with the Giveaway, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Texas, without giving effect to any choice of law provisions. All applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. 

Disputes: BY PARTICIPATING IN THE GIVEAWAY, YOU AGREE TO WAIVE THE RIGHT TO TRIAL BY JURY OF ANY ACTION, SUIT, PROCEEDING, DISPUTE, CLAIM OR CONTROVERSY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE GIVEAWAY.  In the event of a dispute arising out of this Giveaway, you and First Service will attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute by mediation before a mutually agreed upon mediator, or, failing mutual agreement as to a mediator and/or alternatively, appointed by and through the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”), and to share equally in the cost of mediation. If the dispute is not resolved through mediation, then arbitration will apply.  ARBITRATION MUST BE ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS. The arbitration shall be conducted in Houston, Texas, by one neutral arbitrator chosen by AAA according to its Commercial Arbitration Rules.  Except where prohibited by law, by participating, you agree that any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Giveaway.

Social Media Disclaimer: This Giveaway is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram, Meta, X (formerly Twitter), Google, LinkedIn, or any other social media or digital platform. By participating in the Giveaway, entrants agree to release and hold harmless such platforms from any and all responsibility or liability related to this promotion. 

Release of Claims: BY PARTICIPATING IN THE GIVEAWAY, ON BEHALF OF YOURSELF AND MEMBERS OF YOUR HOUSEHOLD, RELATIVES, HEIRS, ASSIGNS, EXECUTORS AND ADMINISTRATORS AND PERSONS WHO USE THE PRIZE AWARDED BY FIRST SERVICE, YOU RELEASE FIRST SERVICE, ITS EMPLOYEES, BOARD MEMBERS, AGENTS, OR REPRESENTATIVES (COLLECTIVELY “FIRST SERVICE PARTIES”) FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY FOR INJURIES, LOSSES OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION ATTORNEY’S FEES) CAUSED BY PARTICIPATING IN THE GIVEAWAY, AND/OR USE OF THE PRIZE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, PERSONAL INJURY AND/OR DEATH, AND EACH PARTICIPANT AGREES TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD FIRST SERVICE AND FIRST SERVICE PARTIES, JOINTLY AND SEVERALLY, HARMLESS FROM ANY AND ALL LOSSES, DAMAGES, RIGHTS, CLAIMS AND ACTIONS OF ANY KINDS ARISING FROM, IN CONNECTION WITH, OR AS A RESULT OF PARTICIPATING IN THE GIVEAWAY AND/OR USE OF THE PRIZE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, PERSONAL INJURY AND/OR DEATH. IN NO EVENT SHALL FIRST SERVICE AND/OR THE FIRST SERVICE PARTIES BE LIABLE TO ANY PARTICIPANT OR PARTY FOR ANY LOSS OR INJURIES TO EARNINGS, PROFIT, OR GOODWILL, OR FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY WHETHER ARISING IN CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
